RAF Croughton Groundworks Package

Project Description

Cosman Assist Ltd has been appointed by Kier Eastern and Midlands to deliver the groundworks package on a complex fuel tank replacement project on a secure military base in the Midlands. The works include all management, supervision, labour, materials, and plant necessary to update the existing facilities.

The groundworks included an initial site strip, exposing and then protecting delicate existing services and the addition of new service ducts. Drainage work includes the installation of a deep oil/water separator and penstock chamber and connection to the existing network.

The reinforced concrete elements include in situ retaining walls and foundations, the concrete slabs, upstands and plinths to take the loads of the new fuel tank. The external works including trief kerbs, concrete roads and asphalt roads in accordance with the project drawings, specifications, and Kier Standards.

The work also incorporated working with M&E contractors who specialise in the petrochemical industry to assist them in the execution of this project.

Our first major project for the Kier Group, we quickly earned the trust of the site team and worked closely with them to ensure the work was carried to Kiers' exacting quality standards and to their renowned high safety procedures.
