Project Description
The Kingsbrook Secondary School Expansion in Aylesbury required a comprehensive and highly coordinated groundworks solution to support significant structural additions. Appointed by Morgan Sindall, Cosman Assist Ltd undertook full responsibility for delivering all groundwork elements in line with detailed project drawings, specifications, and CASSE Standards.
The project involved extensive preparatory works, structural enhancements, and essential underground infrastructure to support the school’s new facilities. With a focus on safety, precision, and timely delivery, our team ensured all substructure and external elements aligned seamlessly with the existing site conditions. The expansion demanded careful planning, robust quality control, and efficient resource management to achieve a durable and future-ready foundation for the school’s growing needs.
Our Scope of Work
Cosman Assist delivered the complete groundworks package, covering management, supervision, labour, materials, and plant for all substructure and external works. Our responsibilities included forming, maintaining, and reinstating MEWP mats, excavating and installing starter bars into the existing foundation, and constructing new reinforced concrete foundations.
We positioned holding-down bolts for the RC frame, installed external and below-slab drainage systems, and grouted steel columns to ensure structural stability. Additional tasks included forming concrete column surrounds, installing insulation, and preparing and pouring the ground and upper floor slabs. We also completed the foundations and slab works for the independent cycle store, ensuring all installations met strict quality and safety standards.
